summer staycation

This summer we are staying in London as I need to earn some money.  We are of course planning a few things to do in London over the weekends and in the evenings which will hopefully keep us in a summer spirit.  Although I think for the English summer we are having this year there are a couple of essentials that I might need to get.

  1. A parka from M&S for those sudden rain showers when an umbrella just won’t do.  I think this will be perfect for a trip to the seaside and perhaps a bit of countryside walking too.
  2. Some Greenpeople Self-Tan because we all know we aren’t going to get a sunshine tan and this product (the only self-tan I have ever used) is really good.  Gradual tan build up and no streaking that I have experienced.  You know just incase there is a freak warm day and I have the chance to wear a dress or shorts.
  3. Non-toxic nail polish from Butter London in cheeky chops, a suitably sunshiny colour for the grey days.

Along with staying in London we are also thinking of making a day trip to the Great British seaside.  I am thinking a suitably quaint town with some character, an ice-cream shop and perhaps a vintage shop or two that can be reached by train.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I’d definitely recommend Whitstable, it’s super close and has some lovely vintage shops and markets. It’s even lovely in the rain. I’ve never been to Margate but I want to visit this summer too. It’s bigger than Whitstable I think and has the Turner gallery x

  2. For some reason, I’ve been think Broadstairs is a good place to check out too. I’m going to go this summer. Also want to go to the Isle of Wight!
