Sleeping in. Carboots. Pub lunches.
We headed to the Capital Carboot in Pimlico which is always good. Little tip: if you follow them on twitter there is a secret password every weekend which gives free entry! I picked up a Tommy Hilfiger chambray shirt for £5. I’ve been looking for one and although this one is probably a bit tight it will do until I find a larger one. I also got a set of 5, apparently Victorian, blue patterned bowls. If you have been following me on pinterest you might have picked up my interest in blue tableware. Unfortunately the one bowl has been cracked and glued back together – any ideas of what other uses I could make of it?
We then headed to the nearby Morpeth Arms which is between the market and Tate Britain. I pleasant enough pub which served to fill our hungry tummies. They do have pretty old glass windows. And I was intrigued by the large bubbles in my tonic water.
I then hung out with my Mum doing generally not much then headed to the Gallery Cafe to take some photos for a documentary screening they had. Best Before looks at food issues from a UK/London perspective in particular. If you don’t know what is wrong with our food system I suggest you take the time to find a screening and check it out. It has an optimistic ending looking at some projects that are going on in London.

Ooh! Have been meaning to try out some of the London car boots…. have put that in the diary for my next free Sunday!
I often use cracked bowls for storing jewellery and other treasures in….. it’s probably not hygienic to put food in them when the glaze is compromised, but if it basically holds together it can store anything else!
It is quite a large bowl – don’t think it would fit on my pile of bedside drawers that I call my dressing table.
These are such good tips! I will definitely check out that carboot sale; it is not far from where I live!
It really is the best one I have been to in London (although I should really try out more). I never come away without something.

Lovely china – I always manage to pick up some plates or teacups at car boots. I haven’t tried Pimlico but we went to Battersea about a month back and that was great.
I do like the Battersea one although I haven’t been in a while. Easier for me to get to Pimlico. But I do like how they both have such sociable hours.
